What recruiters actually scan for
- Certificates with dates — Care Certificate, NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3, moving and handling, medication training
- An up-to-date DBS check — say if it is on the update service
- Settings you have worked in — residential, dementia, domiciliary, respite — and roughly how many residents per shift
- Reliability — attendance, short-notice cover, nights
- Person-centred care shown in one concrete story, not a list of adjectives

The mistake that sinks care CVs
Leading with "caring and compassionate" and nothing else. Every applicant writes it, so recruiters skip past it. What they cannot skip past is a dated Care Certificate, a medication course, and a bullet that shows you noticed something about a resident and acted on it. And never leave an employment gap unexplained — care recruiters have to account for your history, and unexplained gaps cause silent rejections.
